Integrate a Website with Existing Image

Kern Contracting, Inc

Kern Contracting, Inc is a custom home builder with an approach you don't find much any more. Owner, Mike Kern is very involved in the hands on construction of every single home that is built.

In a day and age when large corporations dominate the home building scene with cookie cutter plans and assembly line style construction practices, the process for building has became efficient, but a bit sterile for the home owner who wants something a little different with a personal touch. Kern's individualized approach has been so successful that Kern Contracting, Inc was selected by readers of the Hutchinson News as the areas favorite home builder.

Mike's hands on approach extends through many parts of his business, and that included the image and identity he'd designed for the company. When it came time to go to the internet though, Mike needed some assistance. Key to this project was leveraging the owner's existing investment in signage that he had also designed and built by hand.

Kern Contracting, inc.'s was very simple, yet it was on many expensive pieces and there was existing recognition with that image. So, working with Mike we determined it was best to leverage that identity, and carry it over to the website and also new business cards that contained the website and email information.

A little research into Mike's experience creating the existing business cards found a common theme of how the do-it-yourself approach can often lead to higher costs. Mike had spent many hours and hundreds of dollars doing layout and printing on a home inkject printer for his existing cards. While suitable and adequate, the cards just didn't match up to a stronger layout printed with high quality professional presses. And not surprisingly, the cost for the professional approach was less than the do-it-yourself method.

GraphicSphere designed new business cards and a website with a consistent look and feel that matched the company's existing logo image and signage and color schemes for Kern Contracting, Inc. We continue to work with Mike to optimize the site and linking for better search engine optimization.
